New car sales could go up by 15% in Romania

21 July 2015

New car sales could increase by 10-15% in Romania in the next six months of the year, due to the Cash-for-Bangers (Rabla) state program, according to car market specialists.

In the first half of 2015, the local car market went up by 10-14% for all car categories, including second-hand cars.

The second-hand car sales continue to be affected by the environment stamp, and their evolution in the second part of the year can be unpredictable, according to specialists, reports local Economica.net.

The state enforced the environment stamp tax in 2013, increasing the amount due on Euro 3 and 4 emissions category cars.
