Marathon brings 7,000 runners from 40 countries to Bucharest, winner comes from Kenya
An Ethiopian won the women's marathon, Almaz Nagede Fekade, in two hours, 38 minutes. The winners in the men's and women's race each received a EUR 3,000 award.
The best placed Romanian was Alexandru Ilie Corneschi, who finished in two hours and 36 minutes, while the best female runner was Claudia Paula Todoran, finishing third in the women's race.
The men'a half marathon was won by British Tom Payn, in one hour and ten minutes, while Romanian Ancuţa Bobocel won the women's race in one hour 13 minutes. The relay race was won by Stiinta Bacau.
The race winners received EUR 30,000 worth of prizes, plus gifts from the sponsors.
