The number of insolvent companies dropped in the first two months of the year by 56% year-on-year. It reached 1,895, according to Romania’s Trade Register ONRC.

Bucharest recorded the highest number of companies that entered insolvency, with 411, down by 47% year-on-year.

Iasi county comes next, with 104 insolvencies, down 27% year-on-year. Bihor and Constanta county recorded each 98 insolvencies.

By comparison, 18,358 new companies and individuals registered in the first two months of the year. Their number went down by 0.16% year-on-year.

Bucharest recorded the highest number of new registrations, 3,157, followed by Cluj, with 966 and Ilfov, with 751.
