Hunt Oil Company of Romania, a subsidiary of US oil group Hunt Oil, wants to outsource 3D seismic prospecting services in the Adjud area, central Romania, for a 230-sq km area.

The contract, which is worth EUR 7.3 million (VAT included), will have a 12-month duration. It includes obtaining licenses and permits, identifying landowners and getting access to carry out the services, reports local Mediafax.

The US group subsidiary will finance the contract from its sources.

It will award it through open tender, for the lowest price. The deadline to submit bids is May 7.

In Romania, Hunt Oil has a partnership with OMV Petrom, which they closed in 2010. They agreed to explore two oil deposits in Adjud and Urziceni.

At the end of 2014, the two companies announced that they discovered an oil and gas reservoir in southern Buzau.

They invested EUR 5 million in exploration.
