Holiday Market fair generates EUR 600,000 in sales while Romanians still search for discounts
Romanian tourists search for higher discounts when it comes to holidays abroad than for those on the domestic market. Considering the news about a possible slight increase in tariffs for destinations like Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, visitors chose the early booking offers of five to 30 percent which were advertised at the fair.
Romanians are willing to spend between EUR 350 and EUR 650 on a holiday package (65 percent of them), while only 20 percent would be willing to spend up to EUR 1,000 on a holiday. Travelers have also shifted their usual summer holiday to include the months of April and May and expanded their holiday with September and October.
Holiday Market 2011 gathered over 120 exhibitors on over 5,000 sqm at the People's Palace in Bucharest.
