Spanish tenor José Carreras will return to Romania for a show scheduled for May this year at Sala Palatului in Bucharest. Carreras, who will sing the famous ' La Donna e Mobile' and ' Nessun Dorma', has had several concerts in Romania before, the last time in 2008. The show in Bucharest will take place on May 25, at 20:00.

José Carreras, now 66 years old, had his debut as a tenor in 1970, when he played alongside Monserrat Caballe in Donizetti's 'Lucrezia Borgia'. He achieved worldwide fame after playing Pikerton in 'Madama Butterfly' at the New York City Opera.

He became known as one of the three tenors, alongside Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, with whom he held a series of concerts from 1990 until 2003. Carreras fought leukemia and miraculously recovered at the end of the 80s.
