Enterprise Investors to raise new regional private equity fund, Romania targeted
In 2006 Enterprise Investors closed Polish Enterprise Fund VI (PEF VI) with a capital of EUR 658 million. Fundraising closed in just 3 months and the fund was two times oversubscribed. In most cases PEF VI invests at least EUR 30- EUR 60 million in return for a majority stake representing up to 100 percent of the firm.
In 2008 Enterprise Investors announced the closing of its first venture capital fund, Enterprise Venture Fund I (EVF I). The total capital of the fund was EUR 100 million.
Enterprise Investors controls several companies in Romania: Macon Deva construction materials producer, 23 percent of IT company Siveco, retailer Profi. It also holds shares in Polish Kruk, which is also active on the Romanian market and in Hungarian online insurance broker Netrisk.hu, with activities in Romania as well.
