Energiaprima plans further solar farm investments in Romania

Italian company Energiaprima, which has already invested some EUR 105 million in solar projects in Romania, plans to invest a further EUR 300 million in this sector in the country.

After investing in the Solaris project in Satu Mare, Italian firm Energiaprima wants to build solar projects with a capacity of 200 MW in Romania, according to its development director Antonello Amoroso, quoted by Mediafax newswire. Creating solar projects of this capacity would require some EUR 300 million in investments.

The Solaris project in Satu Mare, built by Energiaprima together with Bester Generacion and Stargreen Consulting, covers 135 hectares of land and produces 67.000 Mwh, according to the company's release. Bester Generacion started two more projects, at Aricesti and Caracal. According to Amoroso, the total investment in the three solar farms was of EUR 170 million.
