Electricity consumption in Romania grows by 4% in first seven months
The public lighting consumption decreased by 14.8 percent, while household consumption increased by 3 percent.
The increase of the electricity resources was mainly due to the increased production with 2585 million kWh, up 7.7 percent. The biggest increase was recorded in the wind power production, up to 441.8 million KWh. Also, the power plant production rose by 18.9 percent to 18.39 billion kWh, while the one of the nuclear power plants increased by 3.6 percent to 6.6 billion kWh.
The electricity export reported in this period was 19.99 billion kWh, up 122.4 percent, while the own technological consumption in networks and stations was with 3.2 percent higher.
The internal production had a year-on-year growth of 4.1 percent, while the electricity import grew by 8.3 percent compared with the same period last year, according to INS.
