Dutch Ton Koopman to perform at Enescu Festival this year
Those who decide to attend the festival on September 15, 22, 23 and 24 will listen to works by Mozart and Haydn, played by Ton Koopman, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and the Virtuosity Ensemble of Bucharest. More about Tom Koopman on his website here.
Subscriptions for the concerts and the contest of the “George Enescu” International Festival (September 1-25) are on sale from March 15, whereas the individual tickets will be issued on May 15. The tickets can be purchased online, at www.eventim.ro, at Eventim Offices in Romania and abroad or in Eventim shops (Germanos, Orange, Vodafone, Domo and Humanitas bookshops).
The “George Enescu” International Festival, which now reaches its 20th edition, is organized every two years by Artexim, a company subordinated to the Ministry of Culture and National Patrimony and coordinated by Mihai Constantinescu. The artistic director of the event is Ioan Holender, ex-manager of Vienna Opera House between 1992 and 2010. Bucharest City Hall, The Romanian Cultural Institute, The Romanian Television Society and The Romanian Radio Society are also included among the organizers of the music festival.
During its first years, “George Enescu” Festival gathered prestigious guests such as Yehudi Menuhin, David Oistrach, Sviatoslav Richter and Herbert von Karajan.
