Roger Stone, one of US President Donald Trump's former campaign advisers, was in Romania yesterday, according to political sources cited by local Hotnews.ro.

Stone left yesterday evening, but will be back in two weeks, said the sources.

The US adviser allegedly came to Bucharest at the invitation of a businessman close to the Social Democratic Party (PSD). He had no official meetings, his visit strictly pursuing political interests.

Hotnews.ro wrote one month ago that a group of US lobbyists made a visit to Romania invited by PSD leader Liviu Dragnea. They took part in hunting parties together in the Danube Delta. Among them was Elliott Broidy, the strong American lobbyist and fundraiser from Donald Trump's campaign team.

Dragnea is lobbying intensely for a new visit to the United States where he hopes to be received by the State Department, according to sources.
