Dinu Patriciu says IMF ignorant about local economy, should be sent home
In response, Jeffrey Frank, the head of the IMF mission in Romania, said the Romanian Government doesn't want to end the agreement with the IMF, and that the fund intends to help Romania in any way to exit the crisis.
A joint IMF and European Commission mission is in Romania until August 4 to review the stand-by agreement and unlock the next loan disbursement of EUR 900 million.
Dinu Patriciu, the founder of Rompetrol, which it sold to KazMunaiGaz, is the owner of of a group of companies which include the Adevarul media group, real estate investment funds, neighborhood retail stores and betting cafes. He was previously listed by Forbes as the richest man in Romania and among the richest men in the Eastern Europe.
