Consumer prices rise 1.2% in Romania
Romania’s annual inflation reached 1.2% in May, up 0.65% year-on-year. The monthly inflation amounted to 0.5%, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
Service prices recorded a 2% increase, the highest year-on-year growth rate in May, followed by food prices, which increased by 1.2%. The prices of non-food goods went up by 0.76%.
Compared to April, consumer prices increased by 0.5% in May. Food was 0.75% more expensive compared to the previous month.
