Bad weather and heavy snow trigger delays on Bucharest Otopeni airport

Romania’s capital Bucharest is under code yellow of snow and strong wind until Monday evening, December 29, 18:00, according to a weather alert issued by meteorologists.

Due to the bad weather, some flights on Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni Airport) have delays of up to two hours, determined by the need to defrost the aircrafts and by snow removal operations, according to an announcement made by the Bucharest Airports National Company.

Air traffic on Otopeni Airport and Baneasa Airport in Bucharest is carried out under winter conditions, due to the heavy snow and strong wind.

The bad weather also closed several roads in Romania.
