Tax fines of EUR 0.5 million during May 1 holiday in Romania

Tax Inspectors from The General Directorate for Fiscal Anti-Fraud (DGAF) gave fines worth EUR 451,000 and seized incomes and assets worth EUR 45,000 following checks made during the May 1 mini-break.

They found most problems in clubs in the popular seaside resort Mamaia, where they issued 81 fines worth EUR 63,000.

During the May 1-3 weekend, inspectors checked 457 tourism operators, restaurants, bars and clubs in Romania’s most popular touristic areas. They suspended the activity of 34 units.

Some 320 of the units tax inspectors checked were clubs, bars and terraces, with most of them active in the Constanta county.
