SAP Romania has new country manager

Valentin Tomsa will step back from the management of SAP Romania, the local subsidiary of German business software producer SAP, starting October 1, after 14 years at the company’s helm.

Dragos Petrea will take over as interim manager. He is now SAP Channel Lead for South-Eastern Europe, namely Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Moldova. He has more than 12-year experience in the local IT industry, and has worked over five years within SAP.

SAP Romania works with multinationals as well as companies owned by local entrepreneurs. It already serves companies such as Dedeman, Albalact, and Fan Courier, as well as OMV Petrom and The Rompetrol Group.

SAP Romania’s business increased by almost 50% last year, to EUR 38.8 million while the company’s profit went up three times to EYR 7.5 million. SAP also increased its local team by about 100 people, to over 300.
