Romania's Ministry of Finance borrows EUR 180 mln

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Thursday, February 12, borrowed EUR 180 million from commercial banks through an auction of treasury bills at a discount, at a yield of 1.46%.

Banks subscribed offers worth EUR 298 million, reports local economica.net.

The yield on treasury bills with 1-year maturity went down from 1.60% in December last year.

The Finance Ministry borrowed at a record low yield of 1.36% in January, but it applied only to certificates with an 11-month maturity.

MFP intends to borrow in 2015 about EUR 2.26-2.72 billion by issuing treasury bills and EUR 5.6 - 6.3 billion through benchmark bonds.
