Local lender Volksbank will contact by phone the customers with loans in Swiss francs to present them the lei-conversion offer, which is valid until the end of July.

Through this offer, Banca Transilvania (BT), which acquired Volksbank earlier this year, will refund the risk commissions. About 18,300 people can benefit from this offer, reads a Banca Transilvania press release.

Banca Transilvania will return the customers the amounts paid as risk charges and will further offer a 22.5% discount to the resulting loan balance. The offer is valid between May 4 and July 31.

Starting April 8, Volksbank doesn’t calculate and receive risk or administration commissions anymore.

Until May 17, customers benefit from the CHF-RON exchange rate from end - last year, to protect them from rate fluctuations that would negatively impact their monthly installments.

Banca Transilvania completed at the beginning of April the acquisition of Volksbank Romania.
