Romania's team returned with a gold and a silver medal from the European Gymnastics Championships last weekend.

Romanian Andreea Munteanu landed the gold medal in the balance beam competition of the European Gymnastics Championships in Montpelier, France.

This was the only medal Romania received in the women’s competition. The country also won a silver medal in the men’s competition. Marius Daniel Berbecar came second on parallel bars.

Romania ranked fifth overall, after Russia, Great Britain, Ukraine and Switzerland. Romania is first in the all-time medal ranking in the European Gymnastics Championships with 140 medals, 51 of which are gold.
