The profitable state-owned companies and other firms will contribute to the national public subscription for buying Constantin Brancusi's famous sculpture The Wisdom of the Earth (Cumintenia Pamantului).

The Government will soon approve a draft on this matter, without imposing any obligations, reports local Profit.ro.

The bill will set the legal framework that will technically allow public institutions, state-owned companies, and other structures to donate money to the state for buying the work of art.

In mid-March, the Government announced that it was willing to pay EUR 11 million to buy the sculpture. The private collectors who own the sculpture have agreed to the price.

However, the Government only has EUR 5 million and tries to raise the remaining EUR 6 million through a national subscription.
