A 20-year old Romanian hacker from Timisoara was recently detained by the Romanian authorities for hacking into NASA and Pentagon web servers. The Romanian hacker - real name Manole Razvan Cernaianu - was identified as being TinKode, according to Mediafax newswire.

He is being investigated for launching attacks and accessing multiple servers belonging to the U.S. army, in order to obtain confidential data that he copied and then transferred to his own computer system. “Through the same procedure he also compromised a web server belonging to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA),” reads a statement of the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).

Moreover, he was also detained for accessing and launching attacks on the system and the website belonging to the U.S. Government, namely the Department of Defense - Pentagon.

The DIICOT prosecutors are currently collaborating in the investigation with the American judicial authorities - NASA representatives and the FBI.
