Romanian Government sets 2012 budget

28 November 2011

The 2012 budget for the presidential administration was amended down to around EUR 6 million by the Government; EUR 366,000 less than this year’s allocations and EUR 530,000 below the funding laid out in the initial draft budget for 2012.

This year the Presidency had a EUR 6.6 million budget.

The presidency allocation in next year’s draft budget amounts to almost EUR 7 million, the increase being explained by the extra funds needed to renovate the Cotroceni museum.

The Romanian Intelligence Service was allocated more funds than in the initial draft budget, up from EUR 222 million this year to EUR 226.7 million in 2012. The raise brings the figure up to the level planned in the 2013 draft budget, which allocates the Romanian Intelligence Service EUR 226 million.

The budgets for the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) and the Protection and Guard Service (PGS) will rise from EUR 42 million to EUR 44 million and from EUR 29 million to a little over EUR 30 million respectively.
