Romanian gas transport company ups net profit by half

16 February 2015

Romanian state-owned gas transport company Transgaz increased its income by 8.8% last year to EUR 380 million while the net profit went up by 51.7% to EUR 114 million.

By comparison, the company recorded in 2013 a EUR 349 million turnover and a EUR 75.3 million profit.

The increase in the 2014 turnover was due to the growth of the tariff for capacity provision, which generated an additional EUR 22 million.

The growth of the reserved capacity and the amount of charged gas also had a positive impact on the turnover.

The company’s expenses went down by 4.4% to EUR 240 million in 2014, from EUR 252 million in 2013.

The Romanian state has a 58.5% stake in Transgaz.
