Romanian farmers have accessed EUR 5.5 billion worth of European Funds through the 2007-2013 National Rural Development Project. The program financed over 85,000 projects.

By July 23 this year, Romanian farmers have received payments of about EUR 4.1 billion from the EU, according to Capital.ro.

The funds for the 2014-2020 National Rural Development Project amount to EUR 9.3 billion.

The north-western counties Bihor, Bistrita- Nasaud, Cluj, Maramures, Salaj and Satu Mare have attracted funds of over EUR 1 billion. The value of payments there reached almost EUR 800 million.

Southern counties Calarasi, Ialomita, Bucuresti and Ilfov have accessed funds of EUR 385 million and received payments of EUR 304 million.
