Romanian Dacia sales in Europe up by 26.4%, surpassing Spanish Seat and Korean Kia

Romanian Dacia car sales recorded a 26.4% year-on-year increase in Europe between January and November 2014, and Dacia's market share increased from 2.3% to 2.8%, according to the statistics from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).

The Dacia car registrations in Europe were estimated at 335,363 units in the first 11 months of the year, up 26.4% compared to January - November 2013 (265,302 vehicles). Dacia's sales surpassed those of Spanish manufacturer Seat, which sold some 300,000 units, and those of Korean producer Kia, which had almost 331,000 units sold in the same period.

Some 27,700 Dacia cars were registered in Europe in November 2014, an 11.2% increase over the same period in 2013, when registrations amounted to 24,922 vehicles.

The car sales of German groups Volkswagen and Daimler increased by 7.3% and 2.4%, while those of French groups Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen by 13.8%, respectively, 3.7%.
