Police officer directing traffic hit by car downtown Bucharest; the driver was a prosecutor

A Romanian prosecutor who was driving his car downtown Bucharest hit a Police officer who was directing traffic in the middle of an intersection.

Gheorghe Stan, the deputy chief inspector at the Judiciary Inspection within the Supreme Court of Magistrates hit a Police officer who was directing traffic in the Natiunilor Unite Square on Wednesday morning in Bucharest.

The Police officer suffered injuries at both legs, as well as a light head injury. He was taken to the Emergency University Hospital.

The driver, who had not consumed any alcohol, said he did not see the Police officer when entering the intersection. Stan was taken for questioning at the Road Traffic Police, and a criminal case will be open against him.
