Drugs producer Zentiva recorded last year in Romania a EUR 89 million turnover, up 36% over 2013. The net profit also grew by 53%, reaching EUR 13.8 million.

The growth in production and exports triggered the company’s better financial results in 2014.

Comparatively, Zentiva posted a EUR 65.3 million turnover and a EUR 9 million profit in 2013.

The production increased by 30% last year, to 62 million units, as the producer won a big contract to produce a drug for the German market.

Exports make up now about 40% of the local production, double compared to 2013.

In the last years, the French group Sanofi, which owns Zentiva, has transferred the production and packaging of tens of drugs to the factory in Romania.
