Over half of Romanian employees go to work by car, 38% choose the bus

Romanians spend an average of 41.36 minutes on the way to work, the favorite means of transportation for 56% of Romanian employees being the personal car, according to a study conducted by Samsung at an European level.

The bus is next on the list of preferences, 38% of Romanians using this means of transportation, while 23% of Romanian employees choose to walk.

Almost 10% of Romanians said they don’t do anything during the 41-minute trip to the workplace, while 20% of them watch movies, TV series or play games on their tablets or mobile phones.

Of those who choose to fill their time with various activities, 66% listen to music and 36% choose to simply observe other people around them. Only 16% of Romanian employees use a tablet to fill the time spent on the road, the mobile phone remaining the most popular item – 83% have one, according to the study.

The most unpleasant situations Romanian employees encountered on their way to work include traffic jams (60%), slow drivers (42%) and delays in public transportation (30%).

The data are included in a study conducted by Samsung Mobile in 12 European countries. In Romania, the study was conducted by One Poll between November 6 and November 18, on a sample of 500 adults.
