Internationally-awarded tennis players gather for BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Romania

Several best-known and awarded Romanian and international tennis players will attend the 2011 BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy, that will be held in Bucharest between September 17 and 25. Juan Ignacio Chela from Argentina, Spanish Tommy Robredo, Albert Montanes, German Florian Mayer and Pablo Anduja, the last year’s finalist, are among the well-known players who will attend the tournament in Bucharest.

Check the full list of players here. Those interested in the event will have free entrance during the qualifying rounds on 17, 18 and 19 of September. Ticket prices vary between RON 20 and 30 per day and can reach RON 190 for a full subscription. You can buy tickets online here.

Romania’s main representatives will be Victor Hanescu and Horia Tecau. The total value of the prizes will reach EUR 371,200. All the proceeds from tickets sale will be donated to Marie Curie Children’s Hospital in Bucharest.

The tournament used to be held under the name BCR Open Romania, with BCR being the main sponsor for the event. From the 2011 edition, BRD became the sponsor and the name of the tournament has been changed to BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy. Famous Romanian tennis players Ilie Nastase and Ion Tiriac are the event's ambassadors.
