Two shareholders of the real estate developer BelRom, Kris Henri Remi Carton and Steven Van Den Bossche have bought land on the premises of the Electroputere Craiova factory and plan to build a shopping center on some of the area. The mall will be called Electroputere Shopping Center and will require investments of EUR 45 million.

The project will be carried on through a company called K&S Electric Power Point, owned by the two BelRom shareholders.

Construction works on the project will start in September and will be finalized in a year and a half.

The project planning include a shopping galleria of 30,000 sqm. In total, 15 hectares of land were included in the City Hall PUZ approval.

Electroputere Craiova factory is owned by Al Arrab. The local factory currently produces equipments for wind farms, electrical transformers, motors, power transformers, railways and urban vehicles, among others.

BelRom has been building shopping centers across Romania in the last couple of years, mainly shopping gallerias under the European Retail Park and Promenada brands in secondary Romania cities, such as Bacau, Foscani, Sibiu.
