Former Ford Europe executive joins McGuireWoods Romania

German Wolfgang Schneider, former Vice President in charge of Legal, Governmental and Environmental Affairs of Ford Europe, will join American public affairs consultancy firm McGuireWoods’ office in Romania. He will serve as Senior Adviser to the company.

Schneider has worked for Ford for 32 years, of which 14 years as a Vice President for Government Relations. He collaborated with McGuireWoods as a client, as the governmental communication firm helped Ford in setting up its business in Romania. Ford currently holds the country’s second largest car plant in Craiova.

“Wolfgang will be an essential resource for clients in Germany and for international clients who want to develop their cooperation with this country. More, he will offer consultancy services from Brussels, Europe’s legislative center, both to Romania and international investors,” according to an announcement from McGuireWoods.

The American public affairs firm’s only office outside the U.S. is in Romania’s capital Bucharest. The firm advises some high profile American companies such as Ford and ADP (Automatic Data Processing). Romanian Nadia Crisan runs the Bucharest office as Managing Director of McGuireWoods Romania.
