The Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification reports for Romania and Bulgaria are expected to continue, based on statements from EU officials.

The president of the European People’s Party (EEP) Joseph Daul recently said he had a talk with Justice Commissioner  Viviane Reading, who told him the reports would continue for Romania and Bulgaria, underlining that a higher body for justice control is needed at an European level.

Daul said in a press conference that many things are still to be done for justice and state  independence in Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia. He suggested a Six-Pack of measures in justice would be needed, following the model of the six measures taken for economic governance in 2011.
