Epstein works on Lufkin’s new 35,400 sqm facility in Ploiesti, Romania

Architecture, interior design, engineering and construction company Epstein is currently providing engineering, architectural and general contracting services for Lufkin Industries’ new manufacturing facility in Romania, according to the company. The new facility has a 35,400 sqm total area and is located on a 33.32 ha site within the Ploiesti West Park, Romania. The new Lufkin facility will support sales of oil pumping units to current and future customers in the Middle East, the Black Sea, Central Europe and eventually Russia.

Currently Epstein is also providing full architecture, engineering and construction management services for the development of a new finished goods warehouse for Star Foods Romania. The new construction totals around 4,500 sqm and extends Star Foods’ storage objectives and activities on the company’s site, in Popesti Leordeni.

“We are very proud that we have succeeded in consolidating our position on the Romanian market under difficult economic conditions, within only five years of trading. Our significant experience on industrial projects in Romania, along with the growing market potential, have led us to concentrate further on penetrating the commercial segment, as well,” said Randy Tharp (in picture), Managing Director of Epstein Romania.

Active in the Romanian market for over five years, Epstein developed projects for various international clients, such as Cameron, Andrew Corporation, Emerson and Petrom. In 2009 the company was the general designer for a new production facility in Cluj-Napoca for Emerson. This production line has an area of ​ 6,500sqm, with an additional 1,800sqm of office space, and was completed in mid-2010. In the fourth quarter of 2009, Epstein also delivered a 12,500 sqm manufacturing and regional office facility for Cameron International in Ploiesti.

Epstein currently has 250 employees worldwide, and is headquartered in Chicago, where it was established in 1921.
