Companies flock from Bucharest Stock Exchange's RASDAQ market as it approaches an end

05 May 2015

Over 300 companies have decided to transfer from the over-the-counter electronic stock market Rasdaq to the main market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The Trading Admission Commission has approved over 100 companies so far, said Ileana Botez, market and communication director with BVB, reports local Agerpres.

The companies listed on the Rasdaq market need to choose their listing options by October 27 this year, when the market’s activity ceases. Companies will decide if they move to the regulated market or delist their shares. So far, 323 companies decided to transfer, said Botez.

In 2005, BVB absorbed RASDAQ – the over-the-counter electronic stock market. In October last year, Romania’s Parliament decided that the RASDAQ section of the Bucharest Stock Exchange will be dissolved.

Companies listed on RASDAQ don’t follow the same reporting standards as companies listed on the regulated market.
