Chinese Film Days, with Jackie Chan & Ziyi Zhang in Bucharest this week

Chinese movie enthusiasts and fans of famous Chinese actor and director Jackie Chan will have a busy September: the Chinese Film Days start on September 11, and last for a week.

Bucharest will be the event’s hotspot during that period, with film screenings scheduled daily at the Cinemateca Union (schedule below). The same screenings will also be scheduled between September 19 and 20 in Craiova, at Auchan Craiovita, and between September 21 and 22 in Arad, at Aula Magna Iuliu Maniu.

Jackie Chan will be in Bucharest on September 11, for the official opening of the festival at Baneasa Shopping City’s Grand Cinema. He will be accompanied by Ziyi Zhang, who will promote her most recent feature-length movie, The Grandmaster.

Chan will become the honorary cultural ambassador and will wear a traditional Romanian blouse for the official festival opening.
Jackie Chan, 60, was born in Hong Kong, and has built a successful career in martial arts movies. He has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and received a Taurus award for his entire career at the World Stunt Awards.
