Antipa natural history museum in Bucharest gets 60,000 visitors in one month after re-opening

As many as 60,000 people visited the recently – renovated Grigore Antipa natural history museum in Bucharest in the first month after re-opening, a figure that was recorded yearly in the past. 34,000 of the visitors during this month were children. The highest number of visitors a day was of almost 5,000 people on October 23.

The museum was re-opened on September 17, after almost three years of modernization works, and with a one-year delay.

The new modern Antipa Museum has interactive systems to present the exhibits, InfoTouch screens, and 3D projection. To see the museum you have to pay a ticket of RON 20. The museum’s program is from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 hours and 19:00 hours. The museum organizes guided tours for groups of more than 10 people, either in French or in English, for RON 100. You can also choose the audio guide, available in English or in French, for RON 10. The tariff for professional photographers is of RON 1,000 an hour.

The modernization works at the National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” started in 2009, and amounted to about EUR 13 million.
