Wizz Air carries 2.7 million passengers on Romanian routes in 2011

Low cost airline Wizz Air carried 2.7 million passengers to and from Romania in 2011, up 29 percent compared to the previous year. Wizz Air, which operates 51 routes to and from Romania, has also announced new ones for 2012: Bucharest - Verona (Italy) and Bucharest - Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

Wizz Air carried out a total of over 11 million passengers last year, up 15 percent compared to 2010. The average occupancy rates of its flights was of 84 percent in 2011.

The company opened three new operational bases in 2011: Tirgu Mures in Romania, Belgrade in Serbia, and Vilnius in Lithuania. Currently Wizz Air operates from 15 bases and offers over 200 routes in Europe.
