Ursus Breweries sells lower beer volumes in Romania, total market sees 24% drop
The beer producer has increased its market share to 32 percent, up 4 percentage points in last year, according to the company, quoting MEMRB Retail Audit data.
The local beer market dropped by 24 percent last year on the previous, due to the difficult economic environment, the decline of the purchasing power and the low temperatures.
Ursus Breweries owns four beer factories in Romania, at Cluj – Napoca, Timisoara, Buzau and Brasov, with 1,700 employees. The company's beer brands are Ursus, Timişoreana, Ciucaş, Azuga, Stejar, Redd’s, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell and Miller.
