The largest ski area in Romania opens in Poiana Brasov after EUR 25 mln investment
“If we continue what we started through promotion, investment, public-private partnerships, and through the involvement of the Government, we will only gain in terms of revenue in local budgets,” said Elena Udrea.
The project to develop and revamp the Poiana Brasov ski area was worth some over EUR 28.4 million and was financed by the Romanian Government - through the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism under the ‘Ski in Romania’ program, in partnership with the Brasov City Hall.
The ski slopes in Romania’s Poiana Brasov currently have a total length of 24 km and spread over an area of 85 ha. The main ski slopes here are Lupui Slope - 2.6 km, Sulinar – 2.8 km, Drumul Rosu – 5.3 km, Sub Teleferic – 2.8 km, Kanzel – 0.8 km, and Bradul – 0.5 km.
