Sibiu International Theater Festival: More than 570 events scheduled for this year’s edition

A total of 575 theater, contemporary circus and dance performances are scheduled for this year’s edition of the Sibiu International Theater Festival (FITS), set to take place between June 24 and July 3 in Sibiu, in central Romania. 

More than 3,300 participants are expected at the events, grouped under the festival’s theme of ‘beauty.’

The event will also add six names to the city’s Walk of Fame: actor Ion Caramitru, who passed away last year, German director Claus Peymann, author Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, cellist Götz Teutsch, Polish theater director Krzysztof Warlikowski and German choreographer Sasha Waltz.

Tickets for the event are on sale starting May 10. A total of 30,000 tickets are available for 116 on-site performances. Tickets can also be purchased for 37 performances that will be made available online. The festival’s program also includes 170 open-air performances.
