Ruukki Romania will shut down by the end of this year its factory in Bolintin Deal, Giurgiu county. The company will let go some 100 people, who will receive compensating salaries. The investments in the factory at Bolintin Deal amounted to some EUR 35 million.

The decision follows the company’s reorientation strategy, mainly after the Finish group was purchased by SSAB this year.

“Following this decision, our activity will focus on the factory in Bacau from now on, and on the deposit we own in Tunari, near Bucharest,” said Jouni Mesamaki, senior vice-president within Ruukki Construction, cited by Wall-street.ro.

According to representatives of the Finish company, the factory located in Bolintin Deal will be up for sale or the space will be leased, depending on the decision made by group officials.
