Romania among first countries to enter Oscar foreign-language race

Romania, Morocco and Venezuela submitted their entries, joining Greece and Poland in this year's "Best Foreign-Language Film" race of the American Film Academy, according to Thewrap.com. “We won't know for months if Greece has found another surprise nominee like last year's "Dogtooth," or if Romania will once again be overlooked for a strong, tough film the way it was with "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.", writes The Wrap.

The Romanian film “Morgen”, written and directed by Marian Crisan, is Romania’s proposal to the Oscar Prizes in 2012. Find out more about the movie on our website here.

Morocco proposed the movie "Omar Killed Me", directed by Roschdy Zem, Poland proposed "In Darkness" directed by Agnieszka Holland, while the movie “The Rumble of the Stones" in Venezuela’s proposal for this year’s Oscars.
