Egypt buys more grain from Romania

Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has bought 175,000 tonnes of wheat from Romania and Ukraine, which will be shipped between January 1 and January 10.

Egypt bought 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat from Ameropa, another 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat from Bunge and 55,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat from Venus, according to Mamdouh Abdel Fattah, GASC vice chairman, cited by Reuters.

The wheat was purchased for an average price of USD 271.24 per tonne.
