Chinese company wins tender to build EUR 1 bln coal-fueled power plant in Romania
A team from the Chinese company was in Romania on July 23, when it visited Rovinari to gather technical data. The next step will be the setting up of the project team that will build the power plant.
China Huadian Engineering is among the five largest state companies in China. So far it has built over 212 electrical power plants in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and is currently working on projects in Turkey.
The tender for the Romanian project was organized in May and the Japanese Marubeni Corporation also submitted an offer. The new power plant will be built on the site of two previously closed energy blocks within the Rovinari power plant.
