State-owned electricity producer Hidroelectrica, the largest such producer in Romania, recorded in November a EUR 29 million profit, up 66% compared to the same month last year, according to Hidroelectrica. The increase is due to measures aimed to reduce operating costs and increase the energy production, the company said.

Hidroelectrica posted a EUR 239 million profit in the first 11 months, up 28% from the same period last year when the company reported a EUR 187 million profit.

The company estimates a EUR 278 million profit for 2014, three times higher than in 2010, when it reported a record production of 19.8 TWh.
