Romanian have won some EUR 78 million on the lottery in the first 10 months this year. In October, they won some EUR 15.6 million, according to the state-owned Romanian Lottery.

In total 4.1 million prizes were awarded this year. For Loto 6/49, traditionally the most popular game run by the Lottery, only EUR 1.8 million have been won this year.

The second highest volume of prizes went to players in the Joker game – EUR 4.2 million. The videolottery – or the slot machines – were most popular among Romanians, and generated the highest earnings – EUR 8.9 million, in over 342,000 winnings, resulting in an average of EUR 26 wining per person.
