Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said on Saturday, July 15, that talking about the church taxation at the moment seems like "a kind of tax adventure".

It takes a “thorough” discussion, with all the actors involved, so that they that could come up with a concept, but things should not be rushed.

The controversy around this topic started on Thursday last week, when the Prime Minister’s adviser Eugen Teodorovici said that the church should be taxed. This eventually led to his dismissal the following day.
