The police detained six young Romanian women on Thursday, February 5, in an investigation over sexual relations for money, which is illegal in the country.

The six young women, namely Diana Guresoaie, Lavinia Despina, Ramona Popescu, Mirela Dumitru, Georgiana Constantin and Diana Nicoras, are known in Romania as TV stars or models. They will face the District 5 Court with a preventive arrest proposal, reports local Mediafax.

The police questioned 33 people in this case. The criminal ring targeted by the investigation included eight women, all high-class prostitutes, who allegedly mediated sexual relations for money for other 25 women. They were making between EUR 1,500 and EUR 2,000 for each sexual relation.

According to investigators, the women recruited clients in luxury clubs and had sex with them for amounts between RON 5,000 and RON 6,000 (some EUR 1,300).

They were also telling clients that they can arrange similar meetings with other women, including some TV stars.
