Radio Romania broadcasts George Enescu Festival concerts

Radio Romania Cultural and Radio Romania Muzical will broadcast live 36 of the concerts to be organized during the George Enescu Festival. The 36 concerts total 5,400 minutes of classic music.

The concerts will also be available on the radios’ online platforms radioromaniacultural.ro and romania-muzical.ro, and on their mobile apps, according to a statement of the Public Radio, cited by local Mediafax. The program will include names such as Zubin Mehta, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Dmitri Sitkovetsky, Sir Roger Norrington, Yuri Temirkanov, Christian Zacharias, Dan Grigore, and Alexandru Tomescu.

Some 27 other concerts (3,100 minutes) will also be recorded and broadcasted the very next day.

The George Enescu Festival, one of the most important cultural events in Romania, also has its own special mobile app that is available in Google Play and App Store. Moreover, the Romanian Television recently launched enescu.tvr.ro, a website exclusively dedicated to the festival, and several cinemas across the country are broadcasting some of the program’s concerts.

The event starts on Sunday, August 30, and will end on September 20.
