One in two Romanians would start a business
One out of two Romanians in the urban area would like to become entrepreneurs. Some 70% of them consider that entrepreneurship is the engine of economic growth and the activity of big companies is appreciated by only 2 out of 10 Romanians, according to an iVOX study.
However, the majority of them believe that the main obstacle for a start-up business is the unpredictability of the tax environment and high tax rates (74% of respondents).
If they decided to start their own business, most Romanians (36.8%) would choose a greenfield investment, using only the knowledge they accumulated so far. Some 33.4% would capitalize on their hobbies and invest in developing a business that would enhance their skills. On the other hand, less than 14% of Romanians are inclined to acquire a franchise or continue a family business.
